The Heavenly Hotel was once an Ironmaster’s home, and has changed hands several times since then; however, after much restoration, there is still plenty to discover while exploring the estate. The open cast mine situated at the rear of the house created a long valley which has now been transformed into a beautiful garden planted mostly in Victorian times, with shrubs, colourful flowers such as daffodils and bluebells along with a rare collection of Royal Ferns over 100 years old! Down by the lake rust red Chalybeate springs still bubble up at the site of the iron workings. Other historical features here include the old ice and game houses.
Much of the culinary delights on the menu are made from the abundance of fruit and vegetables organically produced right here on the estate in the walled garden. Not to mention the fresh honey and the game! Wine tasting sessions can also be arranged for those of you who have a passion for great food accompanied by fine wine.
As this Heavenly Hotel is a privately owned family home, it has the added appeal of giving you and your guest total privacy and peace, without the disturbance of other guest wandering around on your special day.
The intimate and romantic atmosphere at this Heavenly Hotel makes it a wonderful wedding location and a truly special experience!
