Location

Located in the South East region of England, in the attractive county of Hampshire within reachable distance of the city of Southampton.

Setting

Set within a 2000 acre estate, amidst glorious countryside alongside the banks of a river. Within the wider estate lies a charming village of thatched houses including surrounding farmland and woods.

Activities

Trout fishing and horse riding nearby.

Exterior

Originally a 12th century Augustinian priory, now converted into a Georgian private residence.

Interior

Elegantly decorated rooms, including an unusual drawing room with trompe l’oeil style wall paintings which look incredible. The interior also features an interesting 20th century picture collection.

Facilities

A licensed restaurant with a selection of menu options available, children and vegetarians catered for. Café serving a variety of lunches and teas. Kiosk for outdoor refreshments. Outdoor eating area and a picnic area. Crochet and fishing as well as guided tours can be organised.

Receptions

Receptions can be held in the abbey, however for large weddings the facilities in the abbey can be extended with a marquee on the lawns next to a beautiful rose garden.

Entertainment

Live entrainment can be arranged for the duration of the event.

Ceremonies

Licensed to hold civil ceremonies and symbolic ceremonies can be held here too.

Capacity

50 guests within the abbey and 200 guests if hiring a marquee.

Availability

Exclusive use for weddings on a Friday throughout the year with the option of a Saturday wedding during specific months. Unable to offer weddings during June. Lovely to visit all year round.

The Romantic Abbey is an enchanting setting for a wedding, surrounded by sweeping manicured lawns, formal walled gardens and ancient trees.

The rose garden will simply take your breath away. An early evening stroll with the scent of over 300 varieties of roses spells romance! The grounds also feature a long avenue of limes, enormous shady plane trees and a crystal clear stream trickling through… adding a sense of peace and tranquillity to the atmosphere!

This historic house with its gorgeous surrounding creates the perfect backdrop for both interesting and spectacular wedding photographs.
