Weddings in Windsor

Windsor is one of England’s top tourist destinations and should be at the very top of your wedding locations list! Even though it is an ideal base for exploring all London has to offer, there is plenty to see and do right here with a history dating back almost 1000 years, a contemporary shopping experience, fine dining and a range of leisure activities and events too!

This pretty Victorian and Georgian town is situated beside the banks of the River Thames and is, to a large extent, rural in character with some of the loveliest countryside in England. Windsor Great Park is a must when visiting Windsor. The 4500 acres of beautiful parkland includes the famous landmark – Windsor Castle. This enchanting and traditional castle, approached via a three mile avenue lined with trees, is home to the Queen of England and is unique. Since it has been continually occupied for more than 900 years, it is the world's largest, permanently lived in castle. Come and see Queen Mary’s Doll House complete with electricity, water and even furniture, witness the changing of the guard ceremony and marvel at the historic treasures housed in the State Apartments.

There are a number of attractions within the town centre, making it a wonderfully exciting area to visit. However Legoland, only a few miles out, should not be overlooked. This modern theme park offers fun for everyone and just a short walk over the Windsor Bridge takes you to the small town of Eton. Here you will come across delightful antique shops as well as Eton College, one of the oldest colleges in the country. Experience the beauty and traditions of the college by taking a tour. From the school yard many ancient buildings can be explored, including the College Chapel dating back to 1441, a fine example of 15th century Perpendicular Gothic architecture!

Whether you prefer to watch a play at the Theatre Royal, go horse racing at the Royal Windsor Racecourse, enjoy some leisurely sighting by taking a river trip or an open top bus tour or simply sitting back and relaxing over a meal in a welcoming atmosphere, there is no doubt that you will find it incredibly difficult not to fall in love with this attractive place while marrying here.
