Located in the South West region of England, in the popular town of Padstow.

Setting

Set in 40 acres of extensive grounds beside a tranquil river, overlooking a picturesque fishing harbour with the romantic Atlantic coast on the horizon.

Activities

Shopping, cinema, pleasure bloat cruises, fishing trips, speedboat trips, golf courses, crazy golf, art galleries, walking, horse riding and cycling trails, pubs, a famous seafood restaurant and several others on the beach front, water sports such as sailing and surfing - all on its doorstep.

Exterior

Delightful Elizabethan manor built in 1592 with old windows and grey stone walls covered in leafy ivy. The oak front door still has its original lock and key!

Interior

Lavish decor, boasting a surprising wealth of Strawberry Hill Gothic interiors. There is plenty to admire, including magnificent portraits and paintings, an exquisite porcelain collection, fine furniture, original 16th century plaster ceilings and even the oldest cast iron cannon in England!

Facilities

5 venues within the house and gardens for the ceremony, helicopter landing and licensed terrace tearooms serving refreshments.

Accommodations

No accommodation onsite; however a wide choice is available near by.

Receptions

It is not possible to have the full wedding reception in the house; only champagne and canapés after the ceremony can be organised. Marquees can be arranged on the estate for receptions on the peaceful 10 acre meadow - a stunning location with wonderful views.

Unique characteristics of this Meadow Place

From the instant you reach the Meadow Place you will most certainly realise that this wedding venue is very special indeed.

The setting is both serene and unique, with the 18th century formal gardens laid out mainly in an Italian style. There’s a pond and fountain, a charming grotto, an arbour displaying Roman antiques such as Roman funerary urns, a 9th century Cornish Cross, as well as a Bath stone Temple which is licensed for civil ceremonies – a truly romantic setting to exchange your vows!

Stroll through the ancient deer park which is believed to be the oldest in Britain, take a wander through the lime tree avenue, loose yourself in the forest walks, or simple take part in the many events held here. The Meadow Place hosts anything from theater performances to concerts on the well kept lawns and veteran car rallies. It is also repeatedly featured in films and TV shows, including Twelfth Night, BBC’s Antiques Roadshow, and Living TV’s Most Hunted with an exhibition displaying its emergence as a sort after film location!

The enchanted atmosphere, fascinating history and wonderful scenery has lured stars and film-makers here from across the globe. This location where you can gaze at the sun setting over the sea while dancing the night away, will make an incredible backdrop for your wedding celebrations!
